Abbottabad board of intermediate and secondary education was established in 1990. The areas that are under the jurisdiction of BISE Abbottabad include Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, and Kohistan. The board was bifurcated from the BISE Peshawar and established under the intermediate and secondary education act 1990. BISE Abbottabad holds the administrative power to hold, regulate and control the exams and SSC and HSSC levels.
