Lahore: University of the Punjab, Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) department was sealed on Thursday evening after a group of baton-wielding persons ;linked along with the student body, damaged the property.
According to the initial reports, a student organization at the university stormed the department and harassed those inside also including the students.

Some sources have reported that women students were cross-questioned whereas few male students were manhandled.
The involvement of university’s guards came to no use against the threats of the offenders.
Though, the police have said that some students who were involved in the vandalism and harassment were taken in custody inside the ICS department.

The vice chancellor of Punjab University, Mujahid Kamran had held Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) responsible for the violence at university campus.
While talking to the media sources, Mujahid Kamran had quoted statistics when he said that almost all the incidents of fighting were triggered by Islami Jamiat Tulaba.
