Surety Bond Requirement for Study Leave
Under the new policy of Ex-Pakistan leave, all government teachers and employees of Punjab applying for the ‘Leave ex-Pakistan’ must submit a surety bond. Especially for those seeking a study leave, the surety bond amount is set at Rs. 2.5 million. This measure aims to ensure that teachers and employees fulfill their academic commitments during their leave duration.
Consequences for Incomplete Degrees
The policy also states that if a teacher or employee fails to complete their degree after taking ex-Pakistan study leave, they will be required to return the salary received during that period. This clause is intended to motivate the leave awardees to complete their studies and return to their positions on time.
What is Ex-Pakistan Leave?
Leave ex-Pakistan is a special kind of leave awarded only to the government teachers and employees who are interested in pursuing their education further or taking in a short course. Ex-Pakistan leave may be granted on full pay to a civil servant who applies for such leave or who proceeds abroad during leave, or takes leave while posted abroad or is otherwise on duty in abroad, and makes a specific request to that grant this ex-Pakistan study leave. Such leave will be a paid leave and shall be payable for the actual period of leave spent abroad subject to a maximum of one hundred and twenty days at a time. The candidate will receive a certain amount on monthly basis under this leave. Candidates will draw their leave salary in Pakistani rupees irrespective of the country where they spend their leave.
