Provisional Education Minister Dr. Murad Raas through the Twitter announcement has declared that the 20% discount in school fees will remain until schools reopen. He further advised people that if any school does not obey the policy and does not revise the school fee policy then do not pay the school tuition fee. However, he requested parents to pay the school tuition fees to make possible the salaries for the honorable teachers.
The Governments’ Decision On School Fees
The announcement of a 20% fee concession was first made on April 20th, 2020 due to the closure of schools because of Covid-19. The decision was taken because of the complaints from parents’ side that why they have to pay the tuition fees if there are no classes in the schools. However, in order to pay the salaries to teachers and other school staff, it was decided by the government to pay the school fees.
The government said that we have to cope with such a hazardous situation and for this purpose, we have to assist each other. That is why it is requested to parents pay the tuition fees and schools are also ordered to offer a 20% reduction in the fees. However, schools that will not follow the governments’ order will not allow to receive even discounted fees.
What Consequences Came To See
No doubt the decision was taken to facilitate the people during this hazardous situation. Well, it has seen that after hearing this announcement the university students are also requesting the government to facilitate them with a possible solution in fee relaxation because universities are demanding the full tuition fees.
Students are claiming that there is no means of income for the parents, right from the beginning of the lockdown situation. That’s why it is difficult for them to pay the highest fees for the universities. Moreover, for further notifications of education ministry or the government of Pakistan keep visiting Ilmkidunya.
