Decision regarding Reopening of Institution will be taken on July 02, 2020: Shafqat Mehmood

On June 25, 2020, a meeting of National Security Committee presided by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad Decided to Reopen The Universities from July 15, 2020.

Now, Shafqat Mehmood Federal Education Minister in National Assembly clarifies that " Private school association is pressurizing to reopen the schools but the final decision will be taken on July 02, 2020 ".

All Educational Institutions are closed from mid of March and most of the institutions have adopted Online Classes for regular teaching and learning practices.

Shafqat Mehmood further added, all the Students have been promoted to Next Classes through the consent of the Provincial Education Ministers. Now, the final decision of reopening of schools will be taken on July 02, 2020 in a conference with Provincial Education Ministers.

He further says, " we are working on, that how exams will be conducted and how admissions for exams will be taken. This year education budget of HEC is more than the previous years and will try to uplift it in coming years ".

The surplus budget should be used to have a research on teaching methodologies and for the betterment of teaching faculty to bring improvement in the quality. He requested opposition to work collectively in education sector and also said instead of making new universities, try to improve the present ones.
