Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi Ranked at 3rd Place in World Universities Rankings 2018

The Prestigious UI Green Metric World Universities ranking 2018 has placed Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi at 3rd position among overall Universities of Pakistan. Arid University has been given this position because of campus situation, overall infrastructure, atmosphere, transportation facility and quality of education. Arid University has been ranked at 3rd position among Pakistani Universities, whereas, it has been ranked at 302 out of 719 World Universities.

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) administration Criticized By FAPUASA for delay in reappointment of terminated teachers

Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) arranged a meeting on Wednesday for the discussion on resolving the matters of ongoing alleged victimization of senior staff members. The President of FAPUASA released a statement to the press, saying, ‘Instead of their restoration, another professor of physics Dr Mushtaq Ahmed with meritorious achievements was sacked on the grounds of unsatisfactory performance.’

Earlier, the senior professors of IIUI Dr Shahzad Ashraf and Dr Hasnain Naqvi have been illegally discontinued from their jobs. The Director of FAPUASA further said, terminating senior members of the University without notifying them the specific reason is not only victimization but also the laws provided by Supreme Court. He strongly condemned this act of IUII and asked the University to immediately resolve the matters and satisfy the faculty members according to the laws.

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is a high ranked and reputed University of Pakistan located in capital city of Pakistan. The University is offering courses in fields of science, engineering, engineering technology, humanities, arts, religious studies, law, social and natural sciences. The University has academic associations with Academic Staff Welfare Association, Officer Welfare Association, University Staff Welfare Association, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Pakistan (NAYS IIUI Chapter).

The FAPUASA has alleged the University with very serious allegations of promoting corruption and nepotism. He said that the University is not doing on merit appointments; the administration is giving umbrella to fake degree holders. He further said, ‘As per the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and promises by PM Imran Khan, extermination of corruption and nepotism in higher education should be the first initiative by the federal government which requires appreciation towards whistle blowers’.

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is an old University which has made a special mark in Pakistan’s higher education system. The university has collaborative partnership with various international Universities such as: Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, Umm al-Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Islamic University of Medina, Medina, Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Ningxia University, People's Republic of China.

IUII is running several students exchange and scholarships programmes for its students. It’s a matter of great concern that a University which is 38 years old is unable to resolve its internal matters on its own. The FAPUASA members have demanded the government to take steps and resolve undue treatment with teachers for once and all.
