Pakistan Medical Commission, PMC has revised the admission policy for medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. PMC from now onward will conduct the entrance exams for almost all the medical and dental colleges at the national level. The test will be the same for all medical colleges and universities and it will be arranged in a similar pattern that was used for the medical and dental college admission test, MDCAT. However, PMC has also proposed the new name for the entrance exams and the name has changed from MDCAT to NMDCAT which means National Medical and Dental College Admission Test.
What Is PMC?
The Pakistan Medical Commission, PMC is an organization established to control and regulate medical studies throughout the country. All medical practitioners are required to get registered with PMC to practice medicine and dentistry legally in Pakistan. The organization is established in Islamabad with the parent organization, the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination.
General Eligibility Criteria For NMDCAT
Pakistan Medical Commission also comes with the latest general eligibility criteria for NMDCAT. All the interested candidates will go through the following eligibility criteria to be eligible for NMDCAT:
• Candidates have to secure at least 65% marks in the intermediate level of education.
• Candidates must show their national identity card or B form for being eligible.
• Result awaiting students are also encouraged to apply for NMDCAT.
NMDCAT Registration Process
The registration process for NMDCAT has also been finalized by PMC. Candidates are advised to follow the below-given process to get registered for NMDCAT:
Step 1: During the first step applicants will log in and fill the application form through the official website of PMC. Candidates will put their personal, contact details, and educational details and submit the application form.
Step 2: During step 2 applicants will print fee challan and pay the registration fee. The registration application fee is 1500/- PKR.
Step 3: Step 3 of registration is comprised to upload the fee challan form and submit the final application.
Step 4: Now print the application and send a signed application to the authority through courier.
General Documents Required For NMDAT
Applicants are required to show the below given general documents to get registered for NMDCAT:
• Matric result card
• Intermediate or equivalent study result card
• Recent photographs
• Domicile
• CNIC or B Form
New Merit Formula For Medical Studies
The revised MBBS merit formula to get admissions in the medical and dental colleges is given below:

NMDCAT Final Schedule 2020
PMC has also announced the NMDCAT schedule for the 2020 session. The following is the detail of the NMDCAT 2020 session:
• PMC official working starts from September 28th, 2020.
• PMC NMDCAT registration deadline is November 06th, 2020.
• NMDCAT to be held on November 15th, 2020.
