University of Management and Technology (UMT) – Press Release UMT and Binance Join Forces to Advance Blockchain Education in Pakistan

In a significant move aimed at enhancing blockchain education and digital skills across Pakistan, the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, through its National Institute of Blockchain & Crypto (NIBC), has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Binance, a global leader in blockchain technology and digital asset exchange.

This collaboration focuses on equipping Pakistan's youth with foundational and advanced knowledge of blockchain through a variety of educational initiatives. These include globally recognized certification programs by Binance Academy, campus hackathons, policy-focused roundtables, and a campus ambassador initiative, all designed to promote inclusive access to blockchain education.

One of the key objectives of the partnership is to train 100,000 individuals—including a network of master trainers—through Binance Academy’s comprehensive online programs. UMT will also have the opportunity to create accredited digital courses hosted on Binance’s learning platform. These courses will cover major blockchain-related topics such as Web3, NFTs, digital currencies, and the metaverse.

Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad stated, “This alliance reflects our commitment to shaping Pakistan’s digital future. By working with Binance, we aim to align academic expertise with the fast-moving blockchain sector.”

A Binance representative shared similar enthusiasm: “Partnering with UMT allows us to invest in the future of blockchain innovation in Pakistan. Our goal is to support the next generation with the knowledge and resources needed to make a global impact.”

Both organizations are also exploring potential marketing and referral collaborations to amplify their outreach. This initiative is poised to accelerate the development of Pakistan’s digital economy and elevate its position as a hub for blockchain technology in the region.
