In the whole world people celebrate Mother's Day as the day to pay tribute their mother. This day was celebrated on different dates around the world and in many countries it is usually observe second week of May every year. People all over the world wish their mothers the day and also give them Mother's Day cards, gifts and many other things for the acknowledgement of her great love them.
If we dig out the history of the Mother's Day we found its origin in the ancient Greece when people enjoy spring celebrations for Rhea, a goddess mother of the Gods. But the day for human beings was first celebrated in England during 1600's as "Mothering Sunday". A special cake named "Mothering Cake" was used to celebrate the event. In America the 28th President Woodrow Wilson announced the 2nd Sunday of May every year a national holiday for honoring mothers.
Mothers are the most beautiful and precious gift of the Creature to His creation. You know when a baby born Allah frees his/her mother for a period from any kind of worship of Allah as "Namaz", fast and other prayers for her child. Many people think that she is not able to offer prayers due to physical condition but here a point to note that if Allah wanted him to pray even in that time, He would make him able for that. But Allah wanted mother to keep close to her child in that days. In that period mother lives with her child and knows all the needs of her child.
According to Islamic teaching we have to respect our mothers as well as fathers, but there is force on the respect of mothers. As mentioned in the Hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allaah, who among the people is most deserving of my good company?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'then your father." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5626; Muslim, 2548) Al- Haafiz ibn Hajar said: "Ibn Battaal said: what this means is that the mother should be honored three times more than the father. He said, that is because of the difficulties of pregnancy, then giving birth, then breastfeeding.
In the Holy Quran Allah said "And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honor" [al-Isra' 17:23]
How to tribute your mother on Mother's Day
In Pakistan most of the children always hesitate to say their moms that they love her. This is not a mere problem here a point is very interested that young boys and girls lots of times say to his/her lover about that they love each other very much and always try to inform their love through different ways. They love to exchange Valentine Day cards and gifts and also celebrate the birthdays of each other but there is a few number of people in Pakistan wish their moms on mother's day and give them a gift or even say a line "Mom I love you". When ilmkidunya talked to the students about why they don't express their love and affection to their moms most of the students told that they feel hesitation in expressing it. It very much surprising that we feel hesitation to express our love for the personality who knows us more than any other person on the earth.
Here are some easy ways given to express your love and affection to your mother on mother's day.
One of the most important and effective way to show your love and affection to your mother is to give her a gift. A tangible gift is always very much beneficial to show your love to any one. In this regard you should not forget any event as your mother's birthday, their wedding anniversary, mother's day or any events related to her and also give her the gifts on that day. Students it is not necessary to buy a very expensive gift for your mother. You should know about the likes of your mother, you can give her a photo frame with her picture of any memorable event as her wedding or any other. You can also bring a cake or ice cream for the family to celebrate the mother's day.
Another way to show your love on mother's day is to spend time with your mom at home. If it is difficult for you due to the different duties, don't worry try to come early and when you came spend the rest of time with your mother and during this period you should express your love for her in your conversation. Expressing love always very much important, you know mother always loves that their sons/daughters express their love for her. You should say something special to your mom about her love, affection and care for you. Students! You should inform her how much she is important in your life.
Students you can ask your father to take the whole family for special dinner in the restaurant so that your mother would be free that day. If it is not possible to go out for dinner then you should try to help her in the kitchen. On mother's day try to relax your mother from her daily routine as much you can do.
Mothers always have something to say their children. Whenever you feel that your mother wanted to say something don't ignore her, never ever ignore her. You know, when infant you need very much care and she provided you that care and also didn't ignore you that time. So now she needs your attention, always try to give time to your mother and not ignore him if she wants to say something.
In the last I would like to suggest you to pray for your mother's long life so that you can get her love and care for the long period. Always pray to Allah for the happiness of your mother and Allah give you the ability to serve her in a better way.
Many Families make a special Mother's Day dinner or take mom out to her favorite restaurant for a meal. It is a good day to let your mom relax and let her see what a wonderful family she has.
