Basically NAT is the abbreviation of National Aptitude Test. the NAT test in Pakistan is of a great importance because it is necessary for getting admissions at bachelor’s and master’s level in the universities which are associated with NTS.
The National testing Services in Pakistan is the commanding body which is responsible for organizing NAT and GAT tests.
The NAT-I test is normally organized for the students who wish to get admission in bachelor’s level degree and who have complete their 12 years of education successfully.
The NAT-I is further categorized into six different categories which are:
- NAT-IE for Pre-engineering
- NAT-IA for arts and humanities
- NAT-ICS for computer science
- NAT-IGS for general science
- NAT-IM for pre-medical students
- NAT-ICOM for Commerce
Before getting admission in any NTS associated institute, it is compulsory for the aspirants to appear in NAT-I test in their respective field of study.
Just like the other educational disciplines, the students who wish to continue their studies in Arts and Humanities after intermediate level are required to appear in NAT-IA test. NAT-IA is organized by NTS for Arts students.
The NAT-IA comprises of total 4 sections and contains total 90 MCQs in it.
The subject portion in NAT-IA contains 30 MCQS of weightage 33.4% from different arts subjects which includes Pakistan studies, Islamiat and General knowledge.
The general knowledge part in Subject portion contains total 10 MCQS in it.
