University of Sargodha is the primary university in Sargodha which has emerged as one of the leading universities in Pakistan. It has campuses in the major cities of Punjab. It was founded by the British Government in 1929 as De'Montmorency College. It remained as college for many years. Later on Pakistani Government awarded it status of the university. It has now become a comprehensive public institution. Management of it has started lot of research programs. It is cooperating with multinational institutes and firms for the exploration of more ideas. Colleges within Sargodha and in other smaller cities of Pakistan are affiliated with it.
