Punjab Land Record Authority is an initiative by Government of Punjab. The land record authority has duty to computerize the records of land owners to provide security and improve service delivery. It is working under PLRA Act-2017 and supervision of Board of Revenue, Government of the Punjab. The authority is converting all the manual land records into computerized form for better accessibility and accountability. By computerizing the land records there is lesser room for mistakes and the system will be more transparent. By use of integrated security the records of land can be better managed and rechecked.
The higher authorities can check the land records and registrations efficiently through computerized system. In 2017, Punjab Land Record Authority received World Bank Appreciation Certificate for efficient and transparent services. Until now the authority has established 151 state of the art arazi record centers across Punjab. The land owners can access to their land records through the official website of Punjab Land Authority 24/7. By introduction of this new computerized land record system the time consumption for land registration process has been cut half. Now the customers can get their land registrations done in just 5 to 7 days which used to be completed in the past in 18 to 56 days. It is a less complicate and tiring process.
