Health Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the important subdivision trusted by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa .It has an important duty for the wellbeing of public. Health Department conveys original, healing and health facilities. Health Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has five connected units working under it. Health Regulatory Authority, Medical Faculty, Provincial Health Service, Academy Directorate General of Health and Services Medical Health Foundation are its five units. It is currently working on seven projects such as;- Provincial AIDS Control Programme NWFP, Expanded Programme on Immunization in NWFP, TB Control Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prime Minister Program for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis in NWFP and Fata, Malaria Control Programme khyber Pakhtunkhwa, National Maternal Newborn and Child Health Program NWFP and National Programme for FP and PHC. It is functioning for reformation and planning of health policies of the province. It guides all of its departments regarding health education and gives support and awareness about communicable and non- communicable diseases. Prevention from diseases and there spread in the province is also one of the main focus of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department. It ensures facilities and services present in health Department. Drugs control, alternative systems of medicine and food and sanitation assurance in province is also its functions.
