Frontier Corps Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

There are two western provincial auxiliary forces in Pakistan. Frontier Corps are branch of main paramilitary forces of Pakistan. They are functioning in Balochistan and Khyber Paktunkhuwa. Their counterparts in eastern provinces (Punjab and Sindh) of Pakistan are called rangers. Frontier Corps Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is shortly called as FC NWFP. FC NWFP has duty to ensure anti smuggling, anti terrorism and anti corruption in the province of KPK. These forces have been given training equivalent to paramilitary forces of Pakistan. They can be called as the substitutes of Pakistan’s army inside the country.

They are called in the time of any disturbance in law and order situation inside the country. FC NWFP has to responsibilities to fulfill: Execute Security of Border and Border duties, Cooperate with Army/FCNA in the defending the Country as and whenever is required, Guard important Communication Centers and Communication Routes, Overake Counter Militancy/Criminal/Terrorism Operations on orders of the Government, Collaborate with Law Enforcement Agencies in maintenance of Law and Order in country and defend important sites and assets of the country from terrorists and threats. FC NWFP is further divided into military branches such as: Chitral Scouts, Khyber Rifles, Kurram Militia, South Waziristan Scouts , Tochi Scouts, Mahsud Scouts, Mohmand Rifles, Shawal Rifles, Swat Scouts, Orakzai Scouts, Khattak Scouts, Dir Scouts, Bajur Scouts, Thal Scouts and Bhittani Rifles . FC NWFP has founght hand in hand with Pakistan’s army in border and onside country whenever the country was in time of need.
