Punjab University Introduces Online Admission Form Processes for First Time in 2020

Punjab University is the only educational institute in Lahore that offers the private examination opportunity to the students. Before 2020 students are called to appear physically for the submission of their admission forms to the university. But, now according to the new system, Punjab University introduces an online admission form process to all the affiliated colleges. For this purpose, a meeting was organized in which a group of staff including Niaz Ahmed Akhtar (Vise Chancellor of Punjab University), Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar (Professor), Dr. Muhammad Khalid Khan (Registrar), Rauf Nawaz (Controller Examination), Raja Shahid Jawaid (additional controller), Khuram Inayat (deputy controller) and some others gathered.

What Strategy Will Be Followed

Rauf Nawaz, the controller of examination gave a briefing to Professor Niaz Ahmed that in the coming year over 1 lac online admission forms will be received from students. He further informed the public that the online admission form system is introduced under the instructions by Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Niaz Ahmed. He further addressed that students and all the affiliated colleges are not required to come to university to submit the admission forms.

Online Admission Form Scheme for 2020 Programs  

1. Rauf Nawaz said that all the affiliated colleges will submit the admission forms for the associate degree in commerce through the online portal.
2. Students of MA and MSC classes from affiliated colleges will also submit an online admission form of part I and part II classes.
3. Students who are studying LLB 3 years program will also send online application form for part II and part III classes in 2020.
4. Moreover, applicants with LLB 5 years program will also be required to submit part II, part III, and part IV classes’ admission forms through the online portal.
5. He further informed that for four years’ BS students the online admission process will also be applied from this year. Online admission forms of Over 7000 students have been received in January.

What Next Strategy Is Offering By Punjab University

The controller of examination has also revealed that for the convenience of the students, the online system is also going to be implemented for other study programs. Through this online portal, the university is going to facilitate more than 5 lac students in the coming years. In the end, he informed that the introduction of digitalization in the examination is the way to save papers which will be a contribution to save the environment.
