PEC once again disappointed 5th and 8th class students

Lahore, Once again Punjab Examination Commission PEC has failed to provid results on prescribed time schedule and disappointed thousands of students. PEC was supposed to publish the Class 5 and 8 results 2014 on March 31 at 8am but due to mismanagement and inefficiency it could not upload the results and students get themselves in trouble all the day. The results were uploaded in evening at 8pm and still the official website was not accessible due to heavy load of visitors.

Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) published  the results and all the statistics of class 5 and 8 result 2014 are available at ilmkidunya. Overall pass percentage in Class-5 remains 59.9 percent while for Class-8 the pass percentage remains 76.83 percent.
 
All the day students remained confused and worried to get the online result but the concerning authorities could not provide the result to students of Punjab. Apart from visiting the official websites a great number of students also visited the EDO and DPI offices to know the results but could not successful.

For the session 2014 the class 5 and 8 exams were organized in the beginning of February and during exams the concerned authorities got reports of leakage of question papers and it was a great humiliation of PEC and the Punjab government. So PEC management decided to cancel the paper of mathematics and meanwhile on February 14 there were also reports of leakage of question paper.

On the other hand, PEC Chief Executive Officer Nasir Iqbal Malik said there was not any statement by PEC that it will declare the result on Monday morning. It was not easy to declare the result of these huge exams in a limited period of time.  The result had been provided to district authorities in the form of CDs and the result gazette. He further said that PEC has set 33 percent marks to pass the exam.
 
This year more than 2.6 million candidates appeared in the exams across the Punjab province.  The concerned authorities didn’t bother to provide information and result statistics to officers of newspapers, media representatives and other related authorities.
