Lahore, The Punjab Examination Commission PEC has announced the results of Grade V and VIII for the annual exams 2014 on Monday and according to result statistics the pass percentage remains 55.95% and 76.83%, respectively.
In 5th class annual exams, a total of 1,378,800 candidates took the exam out of which 756,536 successfully passed it by making pass percentage of 55.95 and 82 percent students have been promoted to class 6 based on 20 percent marks in all subjects.
In 8th class annual exams, a total of 1,085,777 candidates appeared and 815,860 of them passed it successfully by making pass percentage of 76.83.
The detailed 5th class result 2014 and 8th class result 2014 is available at ilmkidunya and can be viewed quickly. Students can also get the result from PEC website or EDO office. By sending SMS on 800297, Class V and VIII result 2014 can also be taken.
The PEC chief executive officer (CEO), confirmed that 33 percent was set as a benchmark for qualifying the exams.
Punjab Examination Commission was established in 2005 under the Government of Punjab and since then every year conducts the exams for grade 5 and 8 students. For the first time it organized the annual exams for both classes in 2005 in the Punjab province. It develops the exams and then after printing the papers sends them to districts and after that district administrator scores the test and Punjab Examination Commission prepares the results of all the enrolled students
