Two teams of Pakistani aspirants participated in International Chemistry and Physics Olympiads at Bangkok, Thailand and Yogyakarta, Indonesia respectively.
The teams consisting of the 4 chemistry and 5 physics aspirants competed against more than 300 brilliant aspirants of respective subjects from all over the world.

The aspirants were selected under the STEM Careers Programme after nationally screening tests organized in the major cities of the country.
Top 50 50 aspirants for every competition were nominated for training in the subjects.
After attending 3 weeks long training camps, these aspirants were further nominated and trained.
Lastly, two teams were nominated to represent the country in these Olympiads.

The final camps for the two teams were established in Hussain Ebrahim Jamal Research Institute of Chemistry, Karachi as well as Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad respectively.
These International Olympiads are one of the most important competitions for the students of college up to age of 20 years.
More than 75 states send their teams to compete in each of these events
