HEC introduces online complaints web portal for students

In spite of the lack of funds, Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has been trying to systematize and digitize its functions.

The processes such as the Degree Attestation Service and also the Degree Equivalence Service can now be carried out remotely.

Recently HEC has launched a new portal which would permit the aspirants to get their complaints resolved relevant to the higher education.

The aspirants can utilize this web portal to record their complaints along with the higher education commission.

Afterwards, the commission appoints focal personnel to deal along with every respective case.

The complaints could be launched in the following categories:

1.       Admission relevant issues

2.       Use of false or fake information

3.       Corruption or demand for excessive money for any educational institution

4.       Gender, race or cast discrimination

5.       Any type of harassment

6.       Unfair means in exams

7.       Scholarships relevant issues

8.       Fee issues along with universities or commission

9.       Any other managerial level issues in universities, colleges or along with higher education commission

The aspirants who want to record their complaints are required to register an online account along with the commission.

The cell numbers and email address verification is necessary for the account registration.

Regrettably, the commission has a tediously lengthy procedure before an account is created and an online complaint could be launched.

The aspirants are required to fill their profiles which need detailed personal information, family information, documents, picture, contact details, educational history, employment background, publication as well as project information and also the other minute details like skills, affiliations and certifications as well.

Once all the information added by the candidate, any of the available applications such as the grievance lodging application, can be accessed.

It is an exceptional step taken by the higher education commission to introduce a centralized an online management system for complaints.

Though, the commission requires simplifying the procedure even further for the convenience of aspirants.
