Lahore: A report forwarded to Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has revealed that almost 2,281 aspirants have got laptops by utilizing fake Identity cards, whereas 1,771 aspirants have received 2 laptops each.
The report stated that the additional secretary of Higher Education Commission (HEC) among the 9 officials is responsible for unfair distribution of laptops among the aspirants under the CM’s laptop scheme.

The report further held that almost 1,771 students somehow received two laptops each, which cost more than 60 million rupees to the treasury of government.
It said that approximately 2,481 aspirants had filed fake ID cards to get laptops under the scheme.
For the meantime, CM Punjab has made a committee for the investigation. This committee will be presided over by the Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmed Khawaja.

This scheme was launched by the CM of Punjab to provide laptops to the aspirants on merit basis.
