Ned University Of Engineering & Technology Karachi

The Legislative Act passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh led to the establishment of an Engineering University in Karachi by the name of “NED University of Engineering & Technology”. The NED University was originally a NED Government College which was established in the year 1922. The purpose of the NED College was to provide rigorous training and professional help to the Civil Engineers who were employed in the Sukkar Barrage Project initiated by the British Government. The Provincial Assembly Act granted the institute Charter and upgraded it to the status of a University. Hence NED University is one of the oldest and foremost institute of education in Pakistan. The university is named in honor of Nadir Shaw Edulijee Dinshaw, who was the patron, sponsor and benefactor of this institute. The NED announces the Undergraduate Admissions 2025. 

Academic Programs Offered

NED University provides a wide range of programs, with a strong emphasis on engineering and technology. Undergraduate studies are offered in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and other disciplines. It also provides some postgraduate programs, being Master’s degree in Engineering and Master’s in Architecture and Business Administration. There are also other programs like Information Technology, Software Engineering. Each program in the university is designed to focus on hands on training, research, and industry exposure to provide the students with all the essential knowledge and skills to succeed in the professional world.

Facilities & Activities

NED University has such a great modern campus for students in which they can study with the best facilities for extra curriculum activities. It has computer labs, well furnished laboratories, and libraries for their students assistance. The campus also features recreational parks, sports facilities, and common areas for students to promote a balanced campus experience. Academic curriculum aside, students are provided with different clubs and societies, such as the debating society, sports clubs and technical groups. In addition, the university arranges several cultural and technical activities to encourage students to become more creative and involved.
