The merit for admission at KMSMC is determined by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore, which controls the admission process for all the public sector medical colleges in Punjab. Merit score is calculated on the basis of marks obtain in HSSC (or any equivalent examination) and MDCAT by giving weight both to the marks. To be precise 50 % weight is given to the score of MDCAT and rest of the 50% weight is calculated on the basis of marks obtained in pre-medical subjects. The merit cut-off is dynamic in that the university sets a higher merit score each year depending on the quality of candidates who applied to the university.
