DSU serves its purpose of a recognized educational institution of higher education and research by extending frontiers of knowledge and learning. DSU intends to serve the nation by equipping the students with right knowledge and skills in order to serve the country as successful engineers, computer scientists, corporate leaders and mangers as well as innovative entrepreneurs and businessmen.

DSU received its recognition by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) in the year 2012 as a private degree awarding educational institution. DSU has been successful in achieving an extraordinary ranking of 31 in the category of General Universities in the annual ranking process of HEC for the year 2014. All the educational programs and degrees offered by the university have been approved and accredited by the respective approving councils. The engineering degree programs like BE (Mechanical) and BE (Electrical) programs have been approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

The BS (Computer Sciences) program follows the standards of National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC). The BBA and MBA programs follow the standards of National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC). The university has been visited and evaluated by the Government of Sindh’s Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) and has always proven to be up to their mark and desired quality of education.

DSU has got highly qualified faculty members for the programs offered. DSU takes pride in its professional faculty who are considered to be among the most qualified teachers, professors and educationalists who promote academic and research activities among their students. All the faculty members of DSU have been previously associated with the most prominent national and international educational institutions and universities.

Moreover, numerous professional and research papers and case studies written by its faculty members have been presented and published in multiple journals and transactions. It is not about the course work and curriculum to be followed by the teachers but it is about imparting the knowledge to the students by creating a learning environment in order to inculcate thirst for knowledge among the future scientists, engineers and scholars.

In order to promote education and to create learning atmosphere for the working professionals, DSU has also established a Professional Development Center (PDC) especially for middle managers, senior managers and other professionals who wish to excel in their careers by improving their leadership potential.

The center is known as the Center of Excellence for the Development of Research and Soft Skills (CEDRSS). The basic objective of CEDRSS is to train MPhil and PhD students in order to facilitate the students in their desired English language proficiency required for academia and industry.
