The current era is the age of technology, and we can see lots of wonders out of it. This is not very long ago when the world was dependent upon the wired phones. people used to write letters to other cities and countries which reached there after so many days. Even the internet technology was not available in Pakistan before 1993; thus, there was no concept of email and skype as well. These trends have now been immensely changed as technology has brought mobile phones in the hands of every person without respect of age or field.

Now we see that the world is connected strongly and people can interact with each other without any hurdle due to long distance. No matter which country do you belong and where do you reside, you are well connected with lots of people all around the world. You can share emails, talk to them through WhatsApp calls, skype calls, video chat with them and share videos and pictures. The wonders of modern technology also include information sharing; through millions of websites where people can get to know whatever they want to find out. Whenever you need to know something, it is just a click away, and even happenings in any corner of the world are rapidly shared through videos, so that everyone could be able to see it. in the nut shell; technology has entirely reshaped the whole era from all aspects.

There are so many fancy aspects of technology development, but is that all which looks so glittery? Obviously, every good intervention also has some disadvantages also; hence, we have to pay a cost for every blessing. Social isolation is the worst gift of the technology development, which is costing us a lot. now, most of you will think that this technology has linked the world; as I said earlier. The problem is that the olden days when people used to meet each other, and greet on important occasions through cards or letters have passed away. Now everyone is busy with his phone; in most of the modern families, every single child is busy with his phone or computer, chatting with friends, watching videos or web surfing. People living under same roof don’t spend any time together, or share things. Instead they consider it important not miss share and like on the face book, or watch the latest video.

This is the dilemma of our modern world, that despite living together, and staying connected, we are living a life in isolation. Even while living in the same home, family members communicate through messages, instead of giving a healthy time to their loved ones. Children are left alone with their phones, where they are free to do anything and parents are happy with the silence at their home, since children are busy with their device. The concept of family training has been left far behind; instead, children learn everything from Internet. There is no doubt that the child of the day is far advanced as compared to past, however the concept of the family values has become a forgotten past. This is a kind of loss, which has surpassed all the benefits of this advancement.

No technology is good or bad, but this is us who have to decide; how to use it, and the fact is that we are unable to maintain the balance between good and bad aspect of this development. The time is yet in our hands to understand; how can we maintain an equilibrium and enjoy the benefits of technology. Otherwise our generations will grow in a totally intolerable way , which would leave non erasable scars on the face of the society.
