Pakistani activist Nighat Dad nominated for Dutch human rights award

Pakistani Digital rights activist Nighat Dad has been selected for the Human Rights Tulip honor 2016.

The award is displayed by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs to 'inventive human rights shields.' The honor intends to bolster human rights protectors and associations, announce their endeavors and motivate others. The victor is granted a prize worth €100.000.

Nighat Dad is one of ten candidates for the grant. Of these, three will be picked by open vote as the top candidates. Dutch Foreign pastor Bert Koenders will choose the champ, whom he will give the grant – a bronze tulip-formed statue – on International Human Rights Day, December 10.

This not the first run through Dad has been assigned for a grant. Not long ago she was honored the prestigious Atlantic Council Digital Freedom Award for 2016 for protecting and propelling the reason for flexibility. In 2015, she was chosen among the six "Cutting edge Leaders" by Time magazine for protecting and guaranteeing privileges of Pakistanis on the web.
