Human are a highly optical species. Mostly the information is captured in our brain though our eyes. It is also a method of expressing our emotions as well as our feelings. However, we can bet that you did not know everything about it.

Eye is the second complex organ in our body

A human eye is comprised of over 2 million active parts which can course 36,000 bits of information in every hour.

The human eye consists of the complex pathways and mechanisms as well as along with the help of several structures such as retina, pupils, iris, lens, cornea, ciliary muscles and also optic nerves. The proper assembly of these parts assists the eye to function accurately and it also makes our vision perfect.

Cornea is the only tissue in the eye that doesn’t require blood

Cornea is necessary for vision and also the presence of blood vessels will have obstructed in this procedure. Thus, this one is the only living cell in our eye that is not openly connected along with blood vessels. Cornea gets oxygen and nutrients from the tear liquefied in its exterior part and the inner part get nutrition from aqueous humor (i-e the thick watery substance between the lens and the cornea). According to the researchers the factors which promote the creation of blood vessels are absent in cornea, that’s why it is lacks blood vessels.

The eye muscles are strongest in our body

The exterior muscles of the eye are remarkably large in relation to the small size as well as weight of the eyeball and when it comes to the strength, they are the strongest muscle for that job what they actually do. This is only because; the muscles of the eye continuously move to readapt the position of the eye even when the head is moving. Away from that, they also work during sleep as we continually move our eyes during the fast eye movement sleep (REM). In this mode, the eye muscles work without any rest. Though, the muscles of the eye are also exposed to exhaustion. This is the main reason that why our eye needs rest after working continuously for 1 hour.

All of us have a blind spot in our eyes

Light enters the eye by passing through the pupil and hits the retina at the back of the eye. The retina is covered with light-sensing proteins. They send the information to the optic nerve which conveys it back into the brain. The main issue is that the optic nerve ends in the field of the retina itself. This makes a blind spot. The blind spots in every eye are bring into line symmetrically so that mostly, one field of eye of vision will recompense for the loss of foresight in the other.

The eye requires no rest

Eye is the only organ of human body that can function at 100 percent ability at any time, day or night without any rest. However you should give rest to the eyelids as well as to the exterior muscles of your eyes for the better functioning of eye.

We blink 25000 times a day

Isn’t a large number? Blinking has two reasons; first one is to keep the eyes lubricated while the second is to secure the eye from external particles. Our eyelashes have short, curved, hair which helps like a dust-catchers. The blinking of eye reflex origins those automatically to lower when unveiled to harsh elements.

The amount of light entering the eye is constantly controlled

The central opening of the human eye is known as pupil. It changes its size depending upon the amount of light entering in to the eye. The colored area round about the pupil is known as iris which controls the size of the pupil. The colour of the iris, whether it is black, brown, blue or it is green is actually responsible for conveying the eye colour.

The eye heals quickly

When the exterior layer of cells on an eyeball is damaged, the cellular replacement takes place quickly as the surface of an eyeball features living cells. These living cells have the capability to rearrange as well as to transfer to the place where the cells are mislaid.
