Another target of terrorists

Terrorists target another well-known place near Wagah border. Sunday’s suicide blast at Wagah border is yet another sore happening in our history, which left 60 people dead and double number of People injured. Wagah is the only border crossing between the Indian city of Amritsar and the Pakistani city of Lahore. The bout took place when people with their families were returning after watching the procession at Wagah border.

At least 60 people were killed on Sunday in a blast near the Wagah border, the accountability of which was claimed separately by the prohibited Jundullah and TTP-affiliated Jamaat-ul-Ahrar outfits. Fatalities include 10 women and seven children, while more than 110 people have been incapacitated.

The parade venue was about 600 metres away from the blast site, which hints that the assailant aimed to blow himself up at the parade location. Due to strict safety measures he could not reach that area and blew himself up outside the location. If the reports are true that astuteness agencies had already knowledgeable security forces that an attack was looming then I think it is more disgraceful that they could not keep (something) from happening it despite being aware of it. As usual, it was unlucky and poor Pakistani noncombatants who had to pay the price for this security brief or temporary failure of concentration. The only thing our people demand is peace in the country but it seems this is too much to ask and we will keep to express annoyance for an unspecified period of time.
