Maintaining concentration is extremely important for the mind. Concentration exercises sharpens the minds and improves the ability of the mind. Here are various concentration exercises for the mind which could be performed.
Exercise 1-
Count backwards in your mind from 100 to 1.
Exercise 2-
Take a book and count the words in each paragraph. You should do the counting mentally and only with your eyes without pointing the finger at each word.
Exercise 3-
Count in your mind from 100 to 1, skipping each four numbers, such as 100, 96, 92 and so on.
Exercise 4-
Select a word or phrase and repeat it silently in your mind for five minutes. When your mind could concentrate for minutes then make it to ten minutes and so on.
Exercise 5-
Take an object in your hand and concentrate on that object. For instance take any fruit and examine it closely and carefully. Keep your mind on the object and take note of its characteristics. Take note of its shape, texture, color and smell.
Exercise 6-
Observe without looking at an object. Make an effort of observing completely blank as much as possible. This exercise is the best for maintaining concentration, you have to look at your chosen object from all sides and angles but without thinking anything about that object.
