The arrival of the British that had developed forestation in Sindh which has acknowledged consideration for their technical supervision because the earlier English monarchs wanted substantial amounts of timber for various purposes. The game sanctuaries or shikargahs of their native ancestors became the nucleus of managed forests in Sindh in 1843. These woodlands were fenced by the nobles of Sindh for offering sufficient trees protection for the safety of wildlife and was designed for preventing grazed by cattle and other mammals.
This preparation reserved the timberlands determined with distinct border marks and limitless by expected or strict civil rights of the adjacent people on the one big hand, and other area was observed as a neighborhood of a century later. Sindh Forest Department has four major functions like Afforestation, Social Forestry, Rangeland/Pasture Management, Planning, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Sericulture & Apiculture. It is managed by a secretary who is assisted further by CCF who is Chief Conservator of Forests.
