Role Overview
The Competition Commission of Pakistan is looking for a Senior Researcher to play a pivotal role in advancing its mission to create a level playing field in Pakistan’s markets. This individual will lead research initiatives, analyze competition-related issues, and offer data-driven insights that guide regulatory decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:
- Design, conduct, and analyze comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters.
- Provide expert advice and insights on economic and policy research to support the Commission’s goals.
- Develop frameworks to assess market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across different sectors.

Data-Driven Insights:
- Conduct both micro and macroeconomic analysis to aid in policy formulation.
- Collaborate with CCP’s internal departments (Legal, Advocacy, Enforcement) to support regulatory decisions through research.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government bodies and international organizations, to foster collaborative research.

Team Leadership:
- Oversee a team of research analysts, guiding them on research methodologies, data collection, and interpretation.
- Assign research tasks based on departmental needs.

Publications and Reports:
- Lead the preparation of academic publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Ph.D. in Economics, Law, Statistics, or a Business-related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in research and analysis.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a research institute setting.
- A track record of publications in reputable journals or conferences is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Full working knowledge of competition laws in Pakistan.
- Competency in managing data, conducting research, and drafting reports.
- Proficiency in statistical software and research tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage large datasets and perform quantitative analysis.
- Capable of working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects.
Terms and Conditions:
- The appointment will be on a contract basis for two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
- The position may be regularized based on performance during the contract period.
