Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) Project

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, has received financing from the World Bank (WB) under the Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) Project. The project aims to enhance research excellence in strategic economic sectors, improve teaching and learning, and strengthen governance in the higher education sector. A Project Coordination Unit (PCU) has been established under the HEC for this project, and they are seeking an eligible, motivated, and professional individual for the position of Project Coordinator.

Position Details

1. Position Title

  • Project Coordinator

2. Qualification

  • Master’s degree (16 years of education) from a reputable national or international university.
  • Additional project management qualifications will be given more weight.

3. Remuneration

  • Market Competitive as per the provisions of PC-1.

4. Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience after obtaining the required qualification.
  • At least 5 years in a senior-level capacity managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and international donors.
  • Experience in the education sector will be given preference.
  • Preference for documented experience interacting with senior-level policymakers and development institutions.
  • Proficiency in computer desktop applications and office software is mandatory.

5. Application Process

  • No hard copies of CVs and documents are required.

6. Important Notes

  • Consult the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” for policies on conflict of interest.
  • Consultants will be selected according to the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing.
  • Part-time, honorary, apprentice, or internee positions will not be considered for experience.
  • For applicants residing outside Islamabad/Rawalpindi, an in-person review can be arranged via audio/video conferencing at the nearest HEC Offices (Karachi, Lahore, Quetta & Peshawar).
  • No TA/DA will be provided for interviews.

7. Deadline

  • The last date for submitting online applications is October 4, 2024. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
