The Pakistan Ordnance Factories by government of Pakistan was established 67 years ago in 1951.The headquarter of POF is situated at Wah Cantt, Punjab. It is a leading military and defence contractor, corporation and firearms production organization owned by Pakistan Ministry of Defence. POF produces Pistols, Rifles, Submachine gun, Machine gun, Shotguns, Munitions, Explosives and Machine tools. POF is military machinery exporter to United Arab Emirates and United Nations. Besides military machinery production, other services of POF include: Technical training, Material Testing Lab, POF Guest House, Ordnance Club, POF Library and POF Hospital.

It is an oldest and most organized military firm, many other military production unit are established according to model of POF. It has received praise and appreciation for progress and development of military machinery by former prime ministers and COAS. There 14 ordnance factories of POF based on modern techniques and facilities. The organization had been playing a vital role in equipping Pakistan Military with modern and progressive products that has made Pakistan stand tall in the world. POF has also been targeted in Taliban in 2008, but it had not stopped POF for doing its patriotic work. International Organization for Standardization has awarded POF for its high standards. POF uses technology that is imported by United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and China for production of its products.
