Liaquat University Of Medical And Health Sciences is a public University, it was established in 1951. It is situated in Jamshoro, Sindh. It Started as a Medical School in 1881. Later it was given medical college status in 1942. It is one of the first Establishment of Cancer Ward in Pakistan. It can be regarded as oldest and most advanced and equipped medical education facility of Sindh. It has education faculty of: Medical and allied sciences, Surgery and allied sciences, Basic medical sciences, Community and Public health sciences and Faculty of Dentistry. Medical Research Centre (MRC) Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro was established in 2003. The university regularly arranges training and research sessions for its faculty and students. Events on medical studies are also part of University’s routine. It has affiliations with Higher Commission Education (Pakistan), Pakistan medical and Dental Council, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Pakistan Nursing Council and Pakistan Engineering Council. The University publishes two research journals named Journal of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (JLUMHS) Jamshoro for medical students and Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro for engineering students. Both of its research journals are approved by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. A large number of medical students from all over Sindh get admissions in this University.
