SITUATION VACANT

The Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM), Islamabad, invites applications from qualified Pakistani Nationals for engagement as Individual Consultants under the PSDP project titled:

"Establishment of Research & Development (R&D) Center at Department of Archaeology & Museums (DOAM) to promote Soft Image of Pakistan through Cultural Heritage"

Position Details

1 Individual Consultant (Training – Field Archaeology) 1 Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, or related field from an HEC-recognized university Minimum 15 years of experience in government/semi-government organizations in: archaeological explorations, excavations, museology, arranging workshops, seminars, and conferences. At least 15 research articles published in national/international journals. 65 Years
2 Individual Consultant (World Heritage Sites) 1 Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, or related field from an HEC-recognized university Minimum 15 years of experience in government/semi-government organizations, and collaboration with UNESCO in world heritage site management and capacity-building training. Expertise in preparing nomination dossiers for UNESCO World Heritage List. Proven ability to develop coffee table books, brochures, and 15+ research articles published in national/international journals. 65 Years

Terms of Reference (ToRs)

For both roles, the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Capacity Building and Training:

    • Organize training sessions for provincial departments on excavations, preservation of artifacts, and museum curation.
    • Develop training curricula on museum education services.
  • Workshops and Seminars:

    • Conduct workshops and webinars on cultural heritage significance, education, and preservation.
    • Organize cultural caravans, guided tours, and interactive sessions for the public and students.
  • Promotion and Publications:

    • Prepare brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, coffee table books, and other promotional materials for cultural heritage sites.
  • Heritage Nomination Support:

    • Assist provincial departments in preparing nomination dossiers for UNESCO World Heritage List inscriptions.
  • Research-Oriented Activities:

    • Conduct research and prepare publications aligning with project objectives.
