DATA ANALYST(S) REQUIRED
The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is an independent quasi-regulatory and quasi-judicial body dedicated to ensuring healthy competition and economic well-being. In alignment with its organizational development goals, CCP seeks to hire highly qualified and experienced Data Analysts (two positions) as per the following details:
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources for analysis and implement data pipelines for real-time market monitoring.
- Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms to identify market patterns, competition metrics, and unusual trends for market segmentation or concentration.
- Use machine learning techniques to detect price-fixing, collusion, and other anti-competitive behaviors.
- Apply predictive models to assess the competitive impact of mergers and acquisitions. Utilize Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyze merger documents for anti-competitive clauses or market dominance.
- Apply text mining techniques to analyze merger and acquisition documents, press releases, and regulatory filings.
- Assist in the detection of anti-competitive practices by analyzing transaction data, mergers, and acquisitions to evaluate their potential impact on market competition.
- Work closely with legal and enforcement teams to provide data-driven insights and evidence in investigations related to anti-competitive behavior.
- Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate complex data analysis findings in a clear and actionable manner.
Professional Credentials and Other Requirements
- Education: M.Sc./M.Phil./Ph.D. in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Engineering (with a focus on data analysis), or Business Analytics (or related disciplines) from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in data preparation, analysis, research, and drafting.
- Strong understanding of competition-related matters in Pakistan with the ability to place them in a comparative framework.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with large datasets and conduct quantitative analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools such as Business Objects, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Age Limit:
35-50 years (including general age relaxation).
General Terms and Conditions
- The appointment will be made on a contract basis for an initial period of two (02) years, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
- The candidate may be considered for regularization after a reasonable period upon satisfactory progress.
- Only shortlisted candidates based on qualification and experience will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the test/interview.
- Government employees may apply through the proper channel after obtaining NOC from their parent department.
