Creating a Level Playing Field
The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is an independent quasi-regulatory and quasi-judicial body committed to fostering competition in all sectors of the economy. In accordance with organizational needs, CCP seeks qualified individuals with relevant experience for the positions of Researcher and Senior Researcher as per the following details:

Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or a Business-related discipline from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required.
Candidates must have expertise in market research principles, strong analytical skills, and experience with the latest data collection techniques.
Excellent English communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with data analysis software are essential.
Familiarity with survey tools and statistical analysis applications will be an added advantage.
a. Conduct primary and secondary research to collect data for market analysis.
b. Analyze data and prepare reports using Excel, SPSS, and other statistical software/applications.
c. Develop sector-specific research methodologies and processes.
d. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for research data collection and analysis.
e. Conduct background research to support the development of competition strategies and policies.
f. Work with teams to design and execute research projects.
g. Address research inquiries and provide timely and insightful responses.
h. Monitor ongoing projects and identify areas for improvement.
i. Assist in the preparation of presentations and regulatory documentation for formal inquiries and hearings.
j. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Competent Authority.

Qualification & Experience:
MS/MPhil degree, preferably a Ph.D., in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or a Business-related discipline from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university.
Minimum 3 years of experience in research.
Ability to conduct independent research.
Strong leadership skills in managing and guiding research teams.
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Expertise in advanced research methodologies and data analysis.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a regulatory environment.
Comprehensive understanding of Pakistan’s regulatory frameworks.
a. Design, conduct, and analyze comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters.
b. Provide economic and policy research advice to support the Commission's objectives.
c. Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across different sectors.
d. Assess micro and macroeconomic data to provide insights for policy formulation.
e. Work with internal teams to provide data-driven research for regulatory procedures and proceedings.
f. Engage with external stakeholders such as government bodies, international organizations, and academic institutions for research collaboration.
g. Oversee the preparation of academic research publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
h. Mentor and manage a team of research analysts, guiding them on research methodologies, data collection, and interpretation.
i. Assign research tasks to the team as per the needs of different departments.
j. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Competent Authority.
Appointments will be made on a contract basis for two (02) years, extendable based on performance.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. No TA/DA will be provided.
A general age relaxation of 5 years will be granted as per the rules.
Government employees must apply through the proper channel with an NOC from their parent department.
