Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment was established in 1971 with merging of three Federal Govt Departments including National Manpower Council, Protectorate of Emigrants and Directorate of Seamen’s Welfare under the supervision of Govt of Pakistan. The Directive General of this Bureau is Mr. Kashif Ahmed Noor. This bureau is playing a vital role in reducing the pressure of un-employment in the country. The major task of this Bureau is to collect, compile and tabulate the emigration data of the all the Pakistanis who work abroad for employment.

Since its establishment, more than 10 million emigrants have been provided with overseas employment while registered in Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment During this ongoing year, 36510 Pakistanis have proceeded abroad for the employment purpose. This Bureau contains major functions including to promote emigration of Pakistani citizens and to look after the interest and welfare of the emigrants.
