Peshawar: The aspirants belonging to Khyber Tribal Agency staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club on Thursday to demand the early provision of scholarships as well as other facilities to educational institutes in Bara tehsil of the tribal zone.

The aspirants from the different schools and colleges from Bara were led by the Khyber Students Union envoys Sohbat Khan and Zahidullah Afridi.
These students also staged a protest in March on the main Sher Shah Suri Road up to the Governor's House to record their protest. While speaking on the occasion, they blamed the political management of Khyber Agency of not releasing the scholarships to large number of students.
They claimed that the government had assured them to provide scholarships upon their return to their native land in Bara tehsil. They furthermore said that claimed that the authorities also assured that all the schools and colleges in Bara tehsil will be provided with basic facilities.

The student’s activists said that large number of educational institutes had been closed for years during the military operations against terrorists.
"The government has yet to provide the basic necessities such as furniture, water as well as teaching staff to schools and colleges in the region," said Sohbat Khan.
They asked the government to provide buses to all the public sector schools and colleges in Bara as because the aspirants and teachers could not reach the educational institutions on time because of the checking checkposts on different points.

The Khyber agency aspirants also demanded an increase in the number of seats in Government Degree College Bara.
