Sindh Announces New Date for MDCAT Retake

The most awaited news for the MDCAT 2024 Test candidates is finally here! The Sindh health department has announced that the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) will be re-conducted from the medical and dental students of Sindh province and the new MDCAT date has also been announced for it. This news was confirmed through the statement issued by the spokesperson of Health Minister, Meeran Yousuf, on Wednesday. The MDCAT test will be conducted by the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA), according to the order from the Sindh High Court. MDCAT New Date for Sindh Students

As we informed you that the Sindh MDCAT re-conduct decision has been finalized and the test date & exam centers have also been declared. The new MDCAT date in Sindh is 8^th December 2024 (Sunday). Various different exams centres have been established across the province to conduct this MDCAT 2024 again. And IBA Sukkur will conduct this MDCAT test in the province.

MDCAT Examination Centers Across Sindh

The MDCAT 2024 re-conduct decision is confirmed and the establishment of examination centers have also been announced. The numbers of total MDCAT centers in each city have been given in the following:

1.          Karachi:            Three centers
2.          Hyderabad:      One center
3.          Mirpurkhas:     One center
4.          Nawabshah:    One center
5.          Sukkur:             One center
6.          Larkana:           One center

A total of 38,609 students are expected to appear again for this MDCAT exam.

Sindh High Court Decision

The decision to MDCAT retake follows a directive from the Sindh High Court. On 26^th October 2024, the court ordered the MDCAT Retake within four weeks after an inquiry revealed irregularities in the original test held in September. The inquiry concluded that the exam process had been compromised that requires to conduct the MDCAT again to maintain the integrity of the exam.

IBA Sukkur Role in MDCAT Retake

Earlier this week, the Sindh health department granted formal permission to Sukkur IBA to organize the MDCAT retest. A letter from Deputy Secretary Health Department Zohaib Hasan Sheikh to IBA Sukkur Vice Chancellor Dr. Asif Sheikh stated:

“The Honorable Sindh High Court, Karachi, has granted a 4-week time period from the date of issuance of the full court order i.e., 15^th November, 2024.”

The letter further mentioned that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Islamabad, and Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, have been requested to share candidate data with Sukkur IBA. The PMDC has confirmed the sharing of data to secure smooth arrangements for the retest.

SIBA Testing Services for MDCAT Retake

The Sukkur IBA University’s SIBA Testing Services will conduct the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT-2024) Retake on Sunday, 8^th December 2024, in the six divisions of the Sindh province.

Important Instructions for Applicants:

All candidates appearing for the MDCAT 2024 Retake must bring their original Admit Slip along with any of the following original documents for candidate’s verification:

1. CNIC
2. Smart Card
3. Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
4. Passport
5. Matriculation Marksheet
6. Intermediate Marksheet

Candidates without their original Admit Slip and one of the listed original documents will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

Admit Slip Information:

The MDCAT Admit Slips will be issued soon, and candidates will be notified about it through their provided phone number and email. Candidates are advised to regularly check the STS portal/ website for updates and announcements.

Fairness of the MDCAT Retake 2024

The Sindh High Court’s decision came after concerns were raised about the integrity of the MDCAT conducted in September. Complaints and investigations revealed the cheating cases, leading to the court’s decision of conducting the MDCAT again.
