Punjab Government announces summer holidays from May 23rd

Lahore: As per the reports of private news channel, keeping in view the increasing temperatures, the Punjab Government decided that summer vacations in government schools as well as colleges crosswise the province will begin from May 23^rd, 2017.

Sources within the Punjab Education Department said the early beginning of summer vacations has been announced because of the prevailing hot weather and the arrival of Ramazan.

But, they said that private educational institutes across the province have refused to follow these orders.

According to the management of private schools that they have already scheduled the exams till May 30^th, 2017 and this is why it will not be possible for them to close the schools from May 23^rd, 2017.

The discussions were held among the government and private schools representatives on this matter, but however, a consensus could not be reached.

Though, both sides are still agreed for more discussion on this issue.

Normally, summer holidays in Punjab start in the first week of June, annually.
