The managing director of Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir in his recent meeting announced to put the immediate ban on the 100 textbooks as they contain the anti-Pakistan content. He said that these books are being taught in various private schools. The books have been published by 31 publishers and they include the oxford and Cambridge books as well. The books comprise of immoral and blasphemous content that is not suitable for the students.
Formation of Committee
Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir further added that they have formed a special committee of 30 persons for this purpose. Moreover, the district education authorities would also check the private schools whether these books were still being taught in the educational institutes. The books were never checked earlier that’s why the private schools were using such books to teach the students.
Reasons To Ban
The books contain inaccurate facts about the creation of Pakistan and there was wrong information quoted about the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Furthermore, the Azad Jammu Kashmir was also shown as part of India that gave the wrong concept to the students. The books also contain the saying of Mahatma Gandhi instead of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
