Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) is a test which is conducted in Punjab, Pakistan every year for the admissions in BE / BS / BSc Engineering degrees in Engineering Universities. This test is conducted by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. Every year more than 45000 aspirants attempt this test. There are approximately 3000 seats in the government sector engineering colleges and universities of Punjab.
Engineering College Admission Test commonly known as ECAT is mandatory for admission in the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore and its affiliated educational institutes as well as all other government sector engineering universities across the province. On the other hand, some private institutes also require ECAT as a pre-requisite test.
ECAT Test 2020
Every year UET holds ECAT test in July or July soon at least one month after the intermediate annual exams. This year the ECAT test was scheduled to organize on June 13th and June 14th, 2020 however regardless of a surge in Covid-19 cases and lockdown in the country, the test have been postponed on the orders of Punjab government in the wake of developing situation of Covid-19. So far, the university has not announced any date to conduct the test however, we will provide you here all the latest updates regarding ECAT test 2020.

ECAT Syllabus
Before appearing in ECAT test, all the aspirants hunts for the ECAT Syllabus to prepare them for the test in a better way. However, UET has not provided any specific syllabus thus the students are needed to revise the whole syllabus that they studies at intermediate level. The aspirants are required to pay attention on some important topics in this regard.

ECAT test comprises of multiple choice questions (MCQS) from different subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. All these MCQs based on the topics and chapters that the aspirants study in FSc. The test contains 100 MCQS each with 4 marks. The subjects’ i-e Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics portion contains 30 MCQs each while English portion contains 10 MCQs.
