New security measures to be taken by the Lahore board to prevent the false candidates to enter and attempt the exams. In a recent update the Lahore Board has informed that they are planning to introduce biometric verification system for matric and inter exams for the next academic year 2025. The BISE Lahore Board has announced this significant reform to make sure the transparency of exams and completely end the issue of impersonation in future matric and intermediate exams. From next year, the BISE Lahore plans to implement biometric attendance system for students appearing in SSC and HSSC exams. It is a security measure that will prevent fake candidates to sit in exams in place of any other student and it will also strengthen the credibility of the board’s examination process.

Biometric System to Prevent Impersonation

This decision to introduce the Lahore Board biometric attendance system, comes after a series of incidents involving impersonation in the current year’s board exams. According to board representatives, dozens of cases were filed under unfair means cases against candidates suspected of hiring outside or former students to take their exams. With BISE Lahore biometric verification, it is expected that the practice of hiring fake candidates will significantly decrease, as only verified students will be allowed entry into examination centers.

How the Biometric Attendance System Will Work

This new BISE Lahore biometric verification system will involve scanning student’s fingerprints before they enter the examination center. The biometric data will be linked to each student's admission details, creating a secure verification process. According to officials, this procedure is set to begin with the matric exams 2025, with plans to implement this system on a larger scale if it gets successful. This development marks the Lahore Board’s proactive response to exam related malpractice and is expected to help in creating a fairer examination environment for the students.

Admissions and Fingerprint Collection Process

As part of the new security measure, the Lahore board will require students to provide their fingerprints when submitting their admission applications. This fingerprint data of each student will be securely stored and used for verification purposes during the board exams, ensuring that each candidate is legitimate as the rightful student. This will not only help reduce impersonation and cheating but also add a layer of accountability and authenticity to the examination system of the Lahore board.

Possible Expansion to Other Examination Boards

Although the biometric verification system will first be introduced by the Lahore Board in near future, but there is potential for this security measure to expand to other boards too across Pakistan. If this verification stands successful, this initiative may set an example for educational boards nationwide to adopt biometric verification for exam security.

Additional Measures to Enhance Exam Security

The Lahore board has also hinted at implementing further technological advancements to improve the security and fairness of exams. Alongside biometric verification, additional surveillance measures may be introduced to monitor activities within and outside the exam halls to prevent cheating and other malpractices related to exams.

The introduction of biometric verification system by the Lahore Board represents a significant step toward modernizing the examination process and addressing issues of integrity in exams. As students and teachers prepare for the matriculation exams in 2025, the new system promises a fairer and more secure assessment environment, setting a high standard for academic integrity in Pakistan.
