IBCC Introduces New Grading System for Matric and Inter Classes

According to a press release from the IBCC, the new grading system will follow a 7 points system (A-1, A, B, C, D, E, F) instead of previously introduced 10 points scale (A++, A+, A, B++, B+, B, C, D, E, U). This IBCC grading system will also raise the bar for passing marks, with the minimum passing percentage increasing from 33% to 40% for all 9^th, 10^th, 11th and 12^th class students.

While several educational boards have agreed with this new grading system, the governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which manages eight boards each, have yet to make a decision about these changes in the marking and evaluation system. The IBCC has requested the governments of both provinces to adopt the new grading system and they are wishful that these provinces will soon agree to these changes and marking system.
