HEC Announces DAAD Masters Scholarship For Public Policy and Good Governance

The Higher Education Commission has announced the DAAD master's scholarship for Public Policy and Good Governance. Interested students can apply for the announced scholarship after meeting the required eligibility criteria. The offered courses have an international course and will be taught in English. 

Introduction Of DAAD Scholarship

The DAAD funding program is Helmut-Schmidt-Program (Master's scholarship for Public Policy and Good Governance). The scholarship program trains future leaders in politics, economics, administration and nongovernmental organizations. The program also supports the future leaders of the developing country that intend to promote democracy in their home countries. The German Federal Foreign Office funds the DAAD scholarship program and provides the chance for students to get a master's degree in the offered programs.

Following are the requirements of the Helmut-Schmidt-Program that the candidates must fulfil.

• Graduates from developing and emerging countries can apply for the scholarship offered.
• The candidates must have a well-qualified first university degree and above-average grades. 
• The students who are willing to actively contribute to the social, political, and economic development of their home countries/regions.
• Candidates having professional experience, internships, and political/social commitment relevant to the program are also eligible to apply.

• The scholarship holders will receive scholarships of € 934 per month for master's courses in higher education institutions in Germany.

Apply Procedure

The application procedure is mentioned below, which must be followed by the candidates.

• The students must submit the application form in English or German.
• Read the DAAD selection criteria and submit the documents accordingly.
• If you are applying for two master courses, then make sure to enter the priority of the courses.
• The applications for announced scholarships must be made directly to the master's courses.
• The selection will be made by a selection committee in October/November 2023.
• The candidates selected for a scholarship are contacted by the DAAD officials and asked to upload their full documents to the DAAD portal for further processing.
• The required application documents are a single letter of motivation, a curriculum vitae, studies and practical experience, copies of your higher education degree certificates, a copy of your complete set of the transcript of records including an explanation of the grading system, confirmation of relevant professional experience or internships, and proof of relevant political activities such as volunteering or work for charities or NGOs, signature, the date of issue and a stamp, proof of English language skills, written reference from your current employer or a university lecturer.
• Submit your application documents for the master's course and the DAAD scholarship to the master's course of your choice and not to the DAAD.
• Only applications, including all required documents, will be considered. Applications sent to the DAAD will not be sent to the respective master's course.
• If documents are ineligible, then the candidate's application form will be rejected.

The targeted countries are from different world regions: Western, Central and South Eastern Europe, Africa, Sub-Saharan, Asia, Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, and North Africa.

The graduates with the first academic degree can be admission in various subjects such as political science, law, economics and administration. 

Last Date

The last date to apply for the Helmut-Schmidt Program is 31st July 2023. Interested students must apply before the deadline.

Ans: No, the scholarship holders in the Helmut-Schmidt-Program do not have to pay the tuition fee, but the students must pay the registration fee each semester.
