The federal government has announced to change the timing in the schools of Islamabad due to the intense heat wave. Earlier in the interprovincial ministers conference, it had been decided to reopen the educational institutes so that the academic activities can be resumed. On the directives issued by the federal minister for education and professional training, the educational institutes have been reopened and the students are taking the physical classes. However, the students are instructed to ensure the proper implementation of SOPs while attending the classes and wear the mask and also maintain the social distance.
Change In School Timings
According to the announcement made by the federal government, the education institutes will remain open from 7 am to 11 am from Monday to Thursday. The schools that are operating in two shifts can hold the classes from 7 am to 11 am on Friday and Saturday. It has been said that the schools can operate at 50% capacity as per the mentioned schedule. Earlier it had been announced that the students have to attend the classes from 8 am to 1 pm. The decision regarding the change in the school timings had been taken after the resumption of classes for the students of grades 1 to 8.
The decision of Federal Government
The federal government has announced to promote the students of classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 7 without conducting the exams. The exams could not be commenced due to the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic. The concerned authorities will hold the exams for only class 5 and 8. The students will be promoted based on their performance in the previous year's exams. It has been informed that last year the students got promoted after appearing in the annual exams and according to the issued result more than 90% students had passed the exams.
