Lahore: Effective communication skills really help the students in getting good jobs after the completion of their studies, Vice Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said on Wednesday.
VC of UET was addressing a workshop entitled as: “Cover Letters and Email Writing” that was arranged by the Department of Humanities, in association with UET Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC).
He moreover added “the effective communications skills are undoubtedly the necessary requirement for any job. Students must participate in workshops related to writing to enhance their writing skills. The middle stage between obtaining a degree and getting a job is always important as challenging as well. But the students can easily overcome this challenge through dedication, commitment and by trying for excellence. The apsrants must be familiar along with advanced technology for getting good job placements”.
Human resources consultant Humaira Rasheed also attended the workshop. While addressing she said that good communication skills certified better positions for workers in any firm.
A well-written cover letter and CV could increase the chances of applicant for getting a job, she added. Director of UET Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Ghulam Abbas Anjum, Deputy Director Shahida Parveen and Assistant Professor Alia Naushahi and a large number of aspirants were also present there.
