Peshawar: In spite of the claims of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of ensuring quality education crosswise the province, large numbers of schools do not have laboratories and science teachers as well.
Government Shaheed Osama Zafar Centennial Model High School No 2 Peshawar City is one large example of it, which struggles along with the lack of science teachers and does not have laboratories.

The school offers four science subjects with almost 300 students registered in the programmes. Though, just one Chemistry lab is running in the school, the labs for Biology and Physics have been non-functioning for a long period of time.
A teacher, on secretly basis told the media sources that KPK government was well aware of the condition and official letters had also been sent to the concerned officials however no action had been taken so far.

Though, the school principal rejected the news and said they had total 21 teachers including 10 science teachers and all of them are well qualified.
He furthermore said that there were three labs and all of these labs are well equipped. When contacted, the department of education painted a glowing picture of the condition.
According to the officials unprecedented allocation had been made in the budget for the education zone and along with the passage of time all reservations and dodges in the sector will be tackled.
Last year, the result of the science students caused embarrassment for the schools as well as for the education department of KPK.
An education activist, Roman Khan, blamed the government for failing to provide the advanced science laboratories staff and equipment in Peshawar.
