Karachi: A student of Aga Khan University Hospital’s (AKUH) School of Nursing committed suicide last night. According to police, the student committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his dormitory room in the main hostel on Wednesday evening.
Waseemullah, son of Hussainullah, was the resident of Gilgit-Baltistan and was second year BSc nursing student of nursing school at the AKUH.
The university management has denied to give out any comment regarding this issue.
However, according to SP Gulshan-i-Iqbal Dr Fahad Ahmed, Waseemullah committed suicide because of some “family matters”.
A professor of university on condition of privacy said “We have not yet decided whether the body will be handed over to the family or be sent for a postmortem”
A representative of university told that “Waseemullah was studying on full scholarship along with guaranteed job after the completion of his studies”.
A nursing exam that was scheduled for today has been postponed whereas all the other educational activities are suspended in AKU medical colleges and nursing school today.
