Total 471 graduates were granted along with the degrees at 2nd convocation of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar. Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan, was present there as the chief guest, granted the medals to 59 graduates for their brilliant performance in different academic disciplines. One PhD and the 12 MPhil degrees were also given to the scholars of university.
While addressing the ceremony, governor said that the attainments of the aspirants displayed their gratitude as well as the abiding respect for their institute. He also glorified the role of SBBWU for the promotion of women education in the province.
He moreover said that the literacy rate between the women was far below as compared to the men owed to social taboos and the absence of awareness in the society. He said that the security condition in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) had upgraded to a great extent however still the condition of the women education was not enough encouraging.
